DEDICATED FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM

This is a large pump station designed to survive a major earthquake to pump water, including sea water, through a special system of pipes to fight fires in the downtown core of Vancouver. Being one of the first of its kind, this project required a great deal of coordination between consultants and contractors due to its many unique engineering features. Adding to the complexity of construction were challenging excavations, shoring and dewatering requirements.
